The Garden of Earthly Delights
The Garden of Earthly delights is an architecture installation based upon the social dynamics of Mr and Mrs Schindler´s table. On every Sunday the couple opened the doors of their house for gatherings and parties. At those parties, drinking, eating, smoking and dancing were usual, as the precious substances, materials and beverages from the tropics gave steady support to this social openness and discussions. Coffee, Tobacco and Linen/Cotton were always present as silent witnesses of the different discussions, encounters and disagreements, or as simple background for a neutral territory, out of the domain of Mr. Schindler male driven behavior or Mrs. Schindler will to give a feminine imprint to the house.
We take the Linen/Cotton surface as a textile support to be dyed with Coffee Beans, Roasted Coffee and Tobacco, and dry Tobacco. These substances were the materials used to provide a chromatic experience and create different shades of Brown, Red, Terracotta, Beige, etc.
The spatial logic of the intervention is derived from the gridlines taken out of Schindlers house floorplan and then edited to create a non linear space or absolute space, but rather, to create a tropical space feeling of layering and ambiguous experience taken out of the daily life domesticities to create a tension of solid/void, hard/soft, wall/curtain, and so breaking at the same time the neoplasticism grid hidden in the floor plan.

El jardín de las delicias terrenales
El Jardín de las Delicias es una instalación arquitectónica basada en la dinámica social de la mesa del Sr. y la Sra. Schindler. Todos los domingos, la pareja abría las puertas de su casa para reuniones y fiestas. En esas fiestas, beber, comer, fumar y bailar eran habituales, ya que las sustancias, los materiales y las bebidas preciadas del trópico brindaban un apoyo constante a esta apertura y debates sociales. Café, tabaco y lino/algodón siempre estuvieron presentes como testigos silenciosos de las diferentes discusiones, encuentros y desacuerdos, o como simples antecedentes para un territorio neutral, fuera del dominio del comportamiento impulsado por el Sr. Schindler o la voluntad de la Sra. Schindler de dar una traza femenina a la casa.
Tomamos la superficie de lino / algodón como soporte textil para teñir con granos de café, café tostado y tabaco y tabaco seco. Estas sustancias fueron los materiales que se utilizaron para proporcionar una experiencia cromática y crear diferentes tonos de marrón, rojo, terracota, beige, etc.
La lógica espacial de la intervención se deriva de la retícula extraida de la plata de la Casa Schindler y luego fueron editadas para crear un espacio no lineal o un espacio absoluto, más aún, para crear una sensación de espacio tropical de capas y experiencias ambiguas asociadas a la vida cotidiana para crear una tensión de sólido-vacío, duro-blando, muro-cortina y, así romper, al mismo tiempo, la retícula de neoplasticismo oculta en la planta.
